CycleSummit 2027 · About the region

Navarra

Small on the map, infinite in its contrasts

Keep our secret.

We’re not here to sell you on Europe’s biggest cycle tourism destination, because it isn’t. We’re here to reveal one of the continent’s best-kept secrets: a peaceful, authentic region that’s still waiting to be explored. Navarra has taken its time to decide to tell its story. It’s doing so now — and we want you to be among the first to hear it.

The luxury of unwinding and contrast

From the Pyrenees to the desert in 150 km.

In just 150 kilometres, your clients go from the lush greens of the Pyrenees and the beech forests of the Selva de Irati to the striking desert landscape of the Bardenas Reales — both UNESCO Biosphere Reserves.

Tourism here is about avoiding crowds and rushing: visitors don’t replace the locals, they coexist with them. An ideal destination for exclusive experiences that respect the environment.

Pamplona

Your perfect base of operations.

Pamplona isn’t just the venue for the summit — it’s the gateway to a greater adventure. A compact city with a historic centre you can explore by bike in minutes.

  • Excellent transport links: airport, railway station and road network connect Pamplona directly with the rest of Europe.
  • A vibrant culture all year round: beyond the Chupinazo of San Fermín every 6 July, the streets are full of music, neighbourhood life and warmth.

A land of champions and legends

Cycling is part of our identity.

Navarra is the birthplace of Miguel Indurain, who won five consecutive Tour de France titles — and the legacy lives on with Paula Ostiz, junior world road champion and European time trial champion.

The same passion shows in races that have become international benchmarks: the Irati Xtrem, crowning the legendary Larrau, and the Tierra Estella Epic in its MTB and gravel versions.

Four disciplines

Endless business opportunities.

Road & Camino

Five Camino routes

The Camino de Santiago crosses Navarra on five routes, linking up with EuroVelo 1 and EuroVelo 3 — kilometres of history and major mountain passes.

Gravel

Bardenas Reales

Dirt tracks among lunar-like formations, free from traffic — the most distinctive gravel setting on the market.

Mountain bike

3,000 km of terrain

Seven MTB areas classified by difficulty, lush forests, mountain meadows and technical terrain.

Touring & greenways

Five railway routes

Restored railway lines with virtually no elevation gain — past wineries, market gardens and rivers.

The reward

Local cuisine.

Cycle routes wind through the vineyards of the Navarra Designation of Origin, in La Ribera and Tierra Estella — perfect for wine tastings along the itinerary. And at the end of the day: a vibrant pintxo culture, produce from local farms and a tradition of savouring food at a leisurely pace.

The future of cycle tourism is taking shape in Pamplona.
