About CycleSummit
The B2B marketplace for cycling tourism – since 2009
CycleSummit brings together cycling tour operators, destinations and cycling-tourism professionals from all over Europe. Once a year we meet in a new host region: we ride its routes, meet at the marketplace for 1:1 meetings and take the time to get to know each other – because good business partnerships start with personal contact.
Since 2026 CycleSummit Sports adds a second format for road and sports cycling, and every March the ITB Dinner in Berlin brings the community together during the world’s leading travel fair.

Our story
CycleSummit started in 2009 at Lake Constance, founded by Peter Eich of Radweg-Reisen. The first editions all took place in the four-country region around Constance.
For the first time away from the lake: right after ITB Berlin, CycleSummit met at Rheinsberg north of Berlin.
CycleSummit crossed the Alps for an October edition in Brixen, South Tyrol.
Murcia in spring 2016, then Cesenatico in Emilia-Romagna (2017), Arnhem in the Veluwe (2018) and Nyborg on Funen (2019) – each edition in a new host region.
CycleSummit 2020 was fully planned in Yorkshire but had to be cancelled. Instead the community met online.
Toulouse (2021), Chambéry (2022), Riolo Terme (2023), Bern (2024) – and in 2025 back to where it started, at Lake Constance in Constance.
CycleSummit 2026 took place in Groningen, one of the world’s great cycling cities. In March 2026 CycleSummit Sports met in Oudenaarde, Flanders.
CycleSummit Sports 2027 goes to Gran Canaria in March, CycleSummit 2027 to Pamplona, Navarra, in October.
The team
A trained event manager, Heiko was asked by CycleSummit’s founder Peter Eich, then owner of Radweg-Reisen, to develop a B2B event concept – and created the very first CycleSummit. After Peter stepped back, Heiko took over CycleSummit completely at the beginning of 2019. In his main job he is CEO of bikemap.net, and he advises regions on cycle tourism. At CycleSummit he is responsible for strategy and acquisition.
At the first CycleSummit, Jürgen was managing director of the company that formally organised the event on behalf of founder Peter Eich. With decades of experience in banqueting, hotels and tourism, he works with Heiko on the many details of every summit and makes sure that venues and catering meet our standards. His wife Heike – a trained hotel specialist, city guide and sommelier – supports the team at every event.
Ann-Cathrin joined the team as a student in Chambéry in 2022, after many years in gastronomy and hotels. Since 2026 she holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism & Outdoor Management. She is responsible for design, participant communication and the day-to-day business of CycleSummit.
