About the company
The Iris is an inland hotel-boat that can host 25 guests. We mostly run guided tours in English but have had charters with different languages and tour types as well. Our own tours focus on experienced guides that can not only guide people safely around but can also immerse the guests in the area. To make this work we give guides a lot of freedom to decide on route and itinerary.
Regions & tours
The Iris organizes tours in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. Our season starts with tulip tours in the spring, where we loop the Netherlands to see the windmills, flowers and cheese farms. After this we go up and down to Bruges from Amsterdam a few times or do other loops in the Netherlands. Most of our season takes place in Germany though. We go up the Rhine to go to the Moselle, Main and Neckar rivers to do several different tours. In the down season we run the ship as a bed and breakfast in the center of Amsterdam.
