About the company
For more than two decades, we have been organizing cycling holidays in Italy and Europe, making all the arrangements and leaving cyclists with only the pleasure of discovery. Behind every Girolibero holiday: attention to detail, the expertise of dedicated cycling holiday designers, and above all, close-knit teamwork. Every step is coordinated directly from our headquarters in Italy and our bases in France. Our fleet of touring bikes, e-bikes, tandems, and kids' equipment is available for rent and kept in top shape by our own mechanics. Four river barges fly the Girolibero flag. In Italy: Ave Maria Italia and the brand-new Ave Maria Portegrandi, an elegant, latest-generation electric barge built to navigate the little-used waterways between Mantua, Venice, Treviso and Grado. In southern France: L'Estello and Caprice, cruising Provence and the Camargue. These floating hotels welcome cyclists from around the world and are also available for private group charters.
Regions & tours
Bike and Barge Italy, Mantua to Venice: easy cycling stages from the Mantua lakes to the Venetian lagoon, through the unspoiled small towns of the Po Valley. France, Provence and Camargue: from Avignon to Aigues-Mortes, discovering Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and the Pont du Gard. Our on-board catering is simple yet refined: local food traditions, fresh seasonal ingredients, a good range of local wines and attentive service. This is what makes Girolibero's Bike and Barge holidays unique.
Cycle independently using our app, or ride together with the group behind an English-speaking tour leader in an international crew.
Cycling Dolomites, Lake Garda and the Adriatic: from Innsbruck or Bolzano, via Lake Garda or the Venice lagoon; our Venice–Poreč route rides straight into Croatia. Tuscany: the classic Pisa-to-Florence route, a shorter version, or full Grand Tours through Siena, Chianti and Val d'Elsa. Puglia: a full week or shorter loops, built around the breathtaking coastline of Salento. Loire Valley: four itineraries, including one designed specifically for families.
Our cycling tours include luggage transport, hotel accommodation, 7-day assistance, plus an app with maps, roadbook and GPS tracks. As well as the route, the app contains lots of useful, constantly updated content from our dedicated team.
