About the company
Jotunheimen Travel is a local Norwegian tour operator specialising in active holidays in and around Jotunheimen National Park, Valdres and the mountain regions towards the fjords. Being based in the region gives us detailed knowledge of the routes, accommodation, local suppliers and logistics. Cycling is one of our main product areas, with FIT holidays ranging from relaxed and family-friendly tours to more demanding journeys. Gravel cycling has also become a special focus area for us. All our FIT tours have daily departures throughout the summer season and include accommodation, meals, luggage transport and local transport. Most guests choose a regular bike or e-bike from our rental fleet. Guests receive routes, GPX tracks, vouchers and practical travel information through our JVB Travel App, supported by our local team. We also produce guided group programmes for international tour operators and can take care of the complete local operation. Beyond cycling, our portfolio includes hiking, cross-country skiing, Nordic backcountry skiing and snowshoeing.
Regions & tours
Our cycling region stretches from Valdres and the high mountains around Jotunheimen National Park west towards the Norwegian fjords. The area has an extensive network of quiet gravel roads through forests, open mountain landscapes and traditional summer farming areas, often with very little traffic and views towards some of Norway's highest peaks. Throughout the region we use a network of traditional mountain lodges and hotels in our cycling packages, combining active days with comfortable accommodation, local hospitality and good food. The Mjølkevegen is at the heart of our cycling programme. We offer everything from family-friendly and relaxed cycling holidays to longer and more demanding tours for experienced riders. Our itineraries can be offered with regular bikes, e-bikes or gravel bikes. Gravel cycling has become a particular focus for Jotunheimen Travel, with dedicated itineraries featuring longer stages, more climbing and extensive use of the region's gravel road network. We also combine Mjølkevegen with routes such as Rallarvegen, creating journeys from the inland mountains towards the fjords. Our tour operator partners can choose from existing FIT products or work with us to develop guided group programmes adapted to their own customers.
