Kingfisher Journeys is the Adventure tour operator for Rwanda. We began in 2015 as an activity company, initially offering kayak touring and canoeing. However, we quickly expanded to include several other activities, including hiking and mountain biking. Steadily, we grew, innovated, collaborated, and gained a reputation for delivering high-quality, professionallyled activities and adventures. A few years later, we also became a full-service inbound DMC, and now with agents from numerous countries in Europe and North America, our expert local guides and leaders take clients from all over the world on private or group tours to see the wildlife, connect with local people and experience some of the best adventures and cycling in Africa. We are Rwanda's only Travelife operator, and our strong commitment to sustainability drives our purpose in everything we do: to protect the special places we visit, add value, and create as many opportunities for local people as we can.

Often known as the „Land of a Thousand Hills,“ Rwanda's stunning landscapes are the backdrop to one of the world's most exciting emerging cycling destinations. With quality sealed roads and graded dirt roads that wind their way through the hills via remote villages and farms to tea and coffee plantations, Rwanda is made for exploring on two wheels. Rwandans are also incredible cyclists who carry impossible loads up and down the hills on their simple bicycles. From this humble background, they have done something remarkable. They created a pro-team and established the Tour du Rwanda, which has been a fixture on the pro-cycling circuit for several years; And since September 2025, Rwanda will be the first country in Africa to host the UCI Road World Championships. To cycle in Rwanda is to connect with Africa. It is a professional, quality experience, but it is also raw and real.
