About the company
Portugal Green Walks is a specialist adventure travel company offering exceptional self-guided walking and cycling holidays across Northern Portugal and Galicia since 2012.
We believe travel should be safe, rewarding and beneficial to everyone involved. Our extensive local knowledge and trusted network allow us to design carefully planned tours with reliable support, genuine encounters with local people and a positive contribution to local communities and the environment.
We help independent travellers and small groups explore beyond the usual tourist routes, discovering beautiful landscapes and a rich cultural heritage through slow, responsible travel and authentic local experiences.
We also specialise in walking and cycling holidays along the Portuguese Camino de Santiago.
Regions & tours
Cycling holidays across Northern Portugal and Galicia Our expanding range of self-guided cycling holidays combines memorable landscapes, carefully planned routes and reliable local support. Choose from wine country, wild mountain scenery, Atlantic shores and historic pilgrimage trails.
The Douro Valley Ride through the world's oldest demarcated wine region, among terraced vineyards, olive groves and traditional villages. E-bikes make the hills more accessible, leaving you free to enjoy the scenery, wines and regional cuisine.
Cross-Border Adventures Cycle through the Gerês-Xurés Cross-Border Biosphere Reserve, a land of mountains, forests and remote villages shared by Portugal and Spain. Or follow our Albariño Coast route from Northern Portugal into Galicia's Rías Baixas, combining riverside trails, Atlantic landscapes, fishing communities and celebrated local wines on the way to Santiago.
The Atlantic Coast Ride beside long sandy beaches, dunes and fishing villages on routes shaped by the Atlantic. Along the way, explore the historic centres and distinctive character of Caminha, Viana do Castelo, Vila do Conde, Porto and Aveiro.
The Portuguese Camino De Santiago Cycle to Santiago de Compostela on the Central or Coastal Camino. Historic towns, rural scenery and centuries of pilgrimage heritage make this one of our most distinctive journeys.
