About the company

Red Dirt is the #1 cycling tour operator in East Africa. We are specialized in offroad cycling: mountain biking, bikepacking, slowcycling and gravel biking in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. Since 2016 we are showing adventure-lovers the red trails of Africa on our surprising and culture immersing trips. We provide all types of cyclists the ride of their lives by letting them experience the spectacular nature, unique wildlife encounters and interactions with the wonderful local community. From the beginning we have been collaborating with b2b partners to offer bespoke white label tours or collaborative group tours customized to match your client's wishes. As of 2026 Red Dirt has expanded their product range with other active adventure activities such as hiking, trailrunning, multisports and triathlon. We have established solid partnerships with local rafting, canoeing and packrafting companies with the aim to become the DMC in East Africa for active off the beaten path travel.

Regions & tours

East Africa is a potential heaven for adventure tourism. With its extraordinary wildlife and nature, wide variety of climates and landscapes, countless unexplored trails and super friendly inhabitants it's the perfect travel destination for adventurous outdoor travelers. But all of this might be the best kept secret in the world. Red Dirt was established with the aim to change this and promote Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya as premium active outdoor holiday destinations.

We want to take you around, surprise you and let you have the ride, hike and paddle holiday of your life. Slalom the amazing trails in the mountains, share laughs with the wonderful local rolex guy, stand eye to eye with a zebra, smell the African red dirt, see the thousand shades of green in the jungle and dance on the rhythm of the safari ants.
