Rota Vicentina is set in a territory stretching between Alentejo and Algarve, crossed by 750 km of walking trails and over 1,000 km of cycling routes, where the sea, the wild coastline, and the plains meet to offer hikers and cyclists one of the most extraordinary outdoor tourism experiences. Founded in 2013, the Rota Vicentina Association manages this network of trails, placing Southwest Portugal on the global map of leading destinations for responsible, sustainable, and regenerative nature tourism. Rota Vicentina works with over 200 local businesses – including restaurants, accommodations, transport services, and more than 40 tour operators from 11 different countries – as well as a wide network of public and private partners, united to promote the region and a distinctive kind of tourism.

In the Southwest of Portugal, Rota Vicentina invites you to experience the Alentejo and Vicentina Coast, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved stretches of coastline in Southern Europe. Here you'll find 110 km of wild coastline and around 75,000 hectares of protected area, integrated into the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park. This territory is home to a wide range of habitats, many of them untouched, with endemic plant species and a rich variety of wildlife, amphibians, birds, and marine life. Rota Vicentina is a network of walking trails, including the Historical Way, the Fishermen's Trail, and several Circular Routes, each offering a different way to discover the coastal and inland landscapes.
