About the company
Running on Waves combines authentic sailing, active exploration and five-star comfort, offering a dedicated E-Bike & Sail service in the Mediterranean with a strong focus on Greece. Our 64-metre threemast barquentine provides a very different way to discover the region, not from a bus or conventional cruise ship, but from a real sailing yacht. Our guided Bike & Sail tours accommodate up to 42 guests in 18 cabins, accompanied by two cycling guides and 21 professional crew members. Bikes are provided, with e-bikes and standard road bikes available, and the yacht can store and transport up to 34 bikes. A full-board meal package is included, making the yacht a comfortable base throughout the journey. With an average cost of around €3,500 per person for a one-week journey, Running on Waves combines the freedom of cycling with the freedom of the sea: ride during the day, sail between islands and return to the same cabin every evening.
Regions & tours
Our guided Bike & Sail cruises in Greece combine cycling with the pleasure of travelling by yacht. The route between Athens and Corfu takes riders through some of the country's most spectacular landscapes and historic destinations, with bikes, guides, accommodation and fullboard meals forming part of the experience. From Athens and Aegina through the Corinth Canal, Itea and Katakolo, the journey continues to the Ionian islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia, finishing in the atmospheric Old Town of Corfu. Along the way, cyclists encounter ancient landmarks, archaeological sites, fishing villages, olive groves, mountain roads and crystal-clear Mediterranean beaches. The bike routes are designed to make Greece more than a backdrop. You ride into the landscape rather than simply passing through it. When the day's ride is over, the yacht becomes your floating base: enjoy a swim, relax in the Jacuzzi, savour Mediterranean cuisine or simply watch the coastline disappear beneath the sails.
