The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region enjoys an ideal climate for cycling: with more than 300 days a year and a Mediterranean climate, the region is a famous playground for nature lovers and an all year destination. Our region is a French leader for tourism and home to three world-renowned destinations: Provence, Côte d’Azur and Southern Alps that offer a variety of landscapes allowing to change scenery very quickly and a permanent adaptation to all practices and to all clienteles. Cyclists can measure their efforts by climbing the passes of the Southern Alps (Le Galibier, l'Izoard, le Turini) or the famous Mont-Ventoux, mythical summit of the Tour de France. Mountain bikers appreciate the must-see spots such as Les Terres Noires in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence but also the big mountain bike crossings such as the Transverdon (270 km) or the Grande Traversée du Vaucluse (400Km). But the Region is also accessible to lovers of family cycling or «slow tourism». During the holidays or during a weekend, you can discover the territory at your own pace. In the Luberon, in Dracénie, in the Camargue… The region is ideal for bike rides punctuated by cultural visits, meetings with the locals, discovery of local products all on marked trails for holidays in complete safety.
The Regional Tourism Board is a Provence-Alps-Côte d’Azur ambassador. It promotes destinations to the general public, press, tour operators and travel agencies. It works with regional companies and helps them expand their business by providing B2B, B2C and press operations in international markets. The Regional Tourist Board works constantly in press relations and is here to help travel operators design their tourist packages.
