Destination Fyn

We call Fyn and the archipelago Bike Island, because with its 1200 km of signposted cycle routes, the region gives cyclist of all ages the chance to explore widely varied cycling terrain: everything from flat stretches close to the coastline, to hilly roads winding their way between fields and woodland, and through idyllic villages and market towns. In 2017 the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup was held on Fyn – and in 2018 the ITU Multisport World Championships Festival (also including cycling). In 2019 we hosted the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championship. Leisure cycling also has a long history on Fyn. Being regarded as “The garden of Denmark” and with 123 castles and manor houses Fyn has for centuries been a preferred holiday destination. Bike Island Fyn was in 2017 awarded UCI Bike Region by the international cycling union, UCI. We are continuously working on improving the infrastructure on the island.
Fyn is situated in the middle of Denmark, and Odense is the largest city on the island. The easy access only 5 quarters from Copenhagen makes this the place in which to experience the complete modern as well as historic view of Denmark. Fyn offers world-class nature adventures, a unique archipelago, stately maritime traditions, 123 castles and manors which ooze of fairy tale and hundred-year-old traditions. In the market towns you step back in time in the cobble covered streets with the beautiful half-timbered houses. Yet there is still plenty of shopping opportunities and cultural offers.
